A New Style Was Born
The original goal for this guest bedroom was to create a soft, organic retreat — a surprising departure from our client’s usual modern, colorful, eclectic style. For this Mountain Brook home, she wanted something calmer, more natural.
But we know her too well. This is a client who lives for the modern and avant-garde… who loves black, bold, and unexpected. So we reimagined what “organic” could mean for her — blending earthy textures with sleek, dramatic details. The result? A fresh style that’s equal parts serene and striking, perfectly tailored to her personality.
Entrance to guest suite (construction)
We call this entrance to guest suite the Art Moment. Here, we introduce the room’s aesthetic, where organic textures meet sleek modern elements in perfect harmony.
In this Mountain Brook home, over-scaled lighting is one of our signature design hallmarks. These 24-inch-high Arteriors Home sconces strike just the right balance of drama and proportion.
Guest bedroom — before. One of our first bold moves? Saying goodbye to the crown molding in the entire house for a cleaner, more modern feel.
Design Board
In this guest bedroom, sculptural silk art meets light furniture, a ’70s-inspired bench, cage lamps, and a show-stopping rug (it’s amazing). Forget trends — this space is timeless because it’s completely its own.
This corner brings the guest bedroom’s style full circle — a black-and-rattan credenza with woven drawers, an Anthropologie chair dressed in mixed fabrics, and bold pops of black, green, yellow, teal, and white.

A sculptural bedside table gets a whitewashed finish, which softens and balances the table's strong sculptural lines.
Guest bathroom — before. The previous owner (an influencer, no less) left behind an outdated gray vanity and forgettable tile… so we tore it all out without a second thought.
Guest bathroom before. We've got ideas...
Guest bathroom — after. In place of the outdated? A custom curved vanity with smart storage. Architect Adee Harrison and designer Kristi Kennimer obsessed over every line and detail — and it shows.
Guest bathroom before - shower.
A closer look at the shower reveals Artistic Tile’s Veronese slab, echoing the vanity material. The wallpaper delivers big impact from afar, while the Veronese is the detail you love up close.
We're in love with our Japanese inspired wallpaper: not trying to match, just owning its own vibe while fitting right in with the guest suite.
Vanity detail: functional drawers meet the artistry of Veronese. The slab’s original fabrication shows how stone can be cut to create something truly one-of-a-kind.

A TV might have replaced this dimensional mirror, but either way, guests can't stop staring.
