This client sought to create a peaceful and inviting sanctuary, focusing on a timeless aesthetic that could withstand the test of time. We achieved this by incorporating a modern organic style, with a palette of warm earth tones chosen for their durability and ability to conceal everyday wear. Comfortable, understated furniture provided the perfect balance of form and function, while natural textures and materials added depth and harmony to the space. To honor the client's preference for a clean, uncluttered ceiling, we avoided hanging light fixtures, opting instead for layered lighting through sleek recessed fixtures and carefully placed lamps. The result is a cozy, serene home that feels effortlessly stylish and will remain relevant and beautiful for decades to come.
Before. The kitchen was cut off from the family room. On the right, the bar felt tiny and isolated.
After. We opened up the floor plan to invite movement through the space. The bar is now inviting and open.
Before. The bar was ugly and a little cubby only one person could go into.
After. The bar is now a statement design element for the room. Multiple partiers can approach and make drinks. A drink fridge is tucked away on the right. Deep drawers hold upright liquor bottles. And plenty of counter space for mixing. Also hidden on the right is a cabinet with a margarita machine and other appliances plugged in and ready for use.
Before. The breakfast area was antiquated with pink-stained crown molding and color changes everywhere.
After. The client wanted to keep the shutters so we blended everything together for a softened look.
Before. Old fashioned.
After. The client wanted to keep the built-ins on the right so we refaced them and cleaned up the fireplace surround.
Before. The bar-height peninsula tells guests to stay away.
After. Guests can gather round the island - a perfect pre-dinner hangout.
Before. Choppy harsh colors and atrocious stair molding.
After. We removed the skirt board and cleaned up the lines. Ahh, now we can breathe.
Before. The Formal living was never used.
After. A party-friendly space with modular drink tables.
