CUSTOM ART COMMISSIONS

Beauty in. Beauty out.

Sit locus luceat. (Let the room shine.)

Living in the right environment can enrich your life in ways you never imagined. Once you experience it, you realize how merely walking through your space can add happy points to your life. It’s something you don’t know you’re missing until you have it. And then you realize: this is what it’s all about.

I’m Kristi Kennimer, artist and owner of Scarlet Reagan. I don’t just paint— I create a catalyst that will allow your space to give back to you. For twenty years I have developed my special process that is fool-proof because it is deeply personal. I do this by listening, connecting, analyzing and interpreting. Your piece is the story of you.

Here, I’ll walk you through what it’s like to commission a painting and how it gives back tenfold.

A custom painting from Kristi Kennimer is so much more than just art.

Tranquility.

This commission was for a very hard working family. But when away on their yacht, they let go. They retreat to their favorite sandbars. They gather friends and laugh. They make memories.

Their custom painting lives in the salon of their boat, harmonious with the palette of the seas and sand, the ocean waves and the magical sunsets.

Each piece has a purpose.

Let’s take a look at a few transformations.

For big walls, do big art.

It can be scary to think about putting one giant piece on a wall. But I always say there are so many opportunities for tiny art in a home, but very few opportunities for big art. Don’t chop up your home.

Also, along with the custom painting, we restyled the shelves and pillows in this home with accessories from our store. An afternoon of design time can make a big difference.

A personal story

This customer had a 22-foot wall with direct light from a large window. She wanted a piece with loads of color that would brighten her walk to her home gym, and be strong enough to be seen from the street. In addition to the outer beauty of this piece, it has a very special meaning.

The piece is called Fly, Little Bird. It’s about being comforted and encouraged by a lost loved one. Although they may have left this Earth too soon, they’re there to let us know- we got this.

Bring life to your space.

Your painting can invigorate you. It will show guests that you’re an interesting and fun person. It can spark design inspiration for the whole room. And it holds your personal story in its layers, right before your eyes.
